For use with Weathergroove, Selflok & Rubix Products
A Z Flashing accessory is used to as horizontal joiner between sheets, at an opening such as a window head or at the base of cladding to divert face moisture away from the wall. Weathertex Z Flashings are available in two sizes. The Small Z Flashing is suitable for general horizontal joins between Weathertex sheets.
The Large Z Flashing provide extra face clearance at the transition, at opening such as
windows or at the base of the cladding.
Installation Method - Horizontal Sheet Joins
Horizontal joins must be flashed using the Aluminium Z Flashing or Small Aluminium Z Flashing, refer to the Accessories Section.
1. All horizontal joins must be supported by a double or rotated nogging minimum 70mm installed flush with the front of the frame.
2. Install the accessory first before fastening off the top edge of panels. The standard Trimtec Z Flashing (instead of small Z Flashing) should be used where relevant between storeys to allow for frame settling and floor compression.
3. The top panels should be installed such that the bottom of these panels rest on the spacer bead of the z flashing.
4. Install successive panels in the same way using the Z-flashing for horizontal joints.
NOTE: for natural Weathergroove ensure the Alcor flashing for the vertical join runs under the Z flashing.
