Universal Bog
Universal Bog is a two-component polyester putty based on unsaturated polyester resins.
For Exterior Use
Uses:
– Filling dents, scratches and cracks on Weathertex Timber products
– Repairs of metal, polyester and wooden surfaces
– Filling scratches and dents in wooden surfaces
Characteristics

Properties
Basis: Amine pre-accelerated unsaturated polyester resins
Consistency: Paste. Curing System: Chemical Cure
Hardness: 65 → 70 Shore D
Density: Ca. 1.86 g/ml
Temp. Range: Cured -30°C to +115°C
Open Time: 5 → 8 minutes
Sandable After: Ca 20 minutes
Application Temp: + 10°C → + 25°C
Cleaning: Acetone
Repair: With the Universal Bog
* Dependant on porosity, temperature, humidity, and application thickness
Limitations
· Universal Bog may have issues with adhesion should you try to bond to surfaces below 10°C.
· Excessive substrate movement will adversely affect the surface bond of the ‘Universal Bog’.
Surface
Substrates: Wood, Metals, Polyesters, Masonry etc.
Nature: Clean and dry and free from dust and loose or flaking material.
Preparation: Remove all rust. Rough Grinding of smooth surfaces will improve the adhesion
Application
Method: Mix 2% B-component (red) with the A-component (grey). 1384 Add a ‘Pea’ sized piece of B-component to a ‘Golf ball” sized piece of A-component Ensure thorough mixing to achieve a homogeneous mixture.
Do not mix more than can be applied within 5 minutes. Apply the mixed product by means of a spatula in a thin layer to the surface. Apply the filler in several layers if necessary. The Universal Bog can be sanded after 20 to 30 mins (depending on ambient temperature).
After curing repair can be continued (sanding, painting etc.)
Shallow Fill Areas
Size: approx. 0.5mm – 1.00mm depth.
Method: In these areas to ensure adequate bonding of the product was applied over an area of approx. 20-30mm wide, tooled back to approx. 15mm wide and allowed to cure.
Filling of pre-drilled countersunk holes.
1. Ensure that the ‘hole’ is clean, dry and dust free
2. Prepare the Universal Bog
3. Apply the product, working it deep into the ‘hole’ so that you are not just skimming across the top of the ‘hole’.
Precautions
– Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flame and other ignition sources.
– Do not breathe dusts
– Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated place.
– May cause an allergic skin reaction. Wear protective gloves/ protective clothing/ eye protection/ face protection.
– Failure of the product should always be considered as its inability to key to a surface, while Soudal Universal Bog is very versatile it is also the responsibility of the builder/installer to ensure that there is a good surface to bond to. This is determined by the Builder/Installer.
– Due to the surface finish of the ‘Universal Bog’ there may be a difference in visual appearance between areas of the panel. This is not a fault with the product finish but a difference that can occur between materials that is often accented by lux levels, colour & light angles.
