CAVITY CLOSER
For use with ALL Weathertex Products
Cavity Closers are used to close-off the base of a wall, while allowing moisture to drain from the cavity, to keep the cavity ventilated. A cavity system creates a space within the wall that allows airflow to reduce moisture that accumulates in this space either from wind driven rain or condensation.
Weathertex perforated cavity closers are available in three sizes to suit 10, 20 and 35mm wall cavities. They have uniformly spaced perforated slots to provide a 15% perforated area. When inserting cladding into the closer, ensure to leave a 2mm gap before full insertion.
Installation Method
To protect against vermin and other material entering the cavity, the base of the cavity must be sealed using the Cavity Closer.
A Cavity Closer must be installed at the base of the wall and above window heads and inter-storey flashings. The bottom of each batten is inserted into the cavity closer.
