Weathertex’s EPD Milestone:
Leading Sustainability with EN Compliance
At Weathertex, sustainability has always been at the core of our values and commitment, and our EN compliance reinforces that. We are proud to announce that our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), certified under the Global GreenTag EPD™ program, are now compliant with EN 15804+A2 standards. This achievement not only reflects our leadership in sustainable manufacturing but also highlights our dedication to transparency and environmental responsibility.
What Does EN Compliance Mean?
- To understand the significance of EN compliance, it’s essential to differentiate between ISO and EN standards:
- ISO (International Standards Organisation) establishes global benchmarks for consistency and quality across industries.
- EN (European Norms) adapts ISO standards to European regulations, often incorporating stricter performance criteria to meet specific market needs.
By aligning with EN 15804+A2 standards, Weathertex ensures that our products meet rigorous environmental performance requirements, further solidifying our place as a trusted partner in the global green building industry.
Transparency at the Heart of Our EPDs
Our EPDs, verified under the Global GreenTag ECO EPD program, offer detailed insights into the lifecycle impact of our products. Here are the key highlights:
- Climate-Positive Impact: Weathertex products remove between 0.13-0.4kg of CO2 equivalent from the atmosphere, thanks to high levels of carbon sequestration in the wood used.
- Renewable Materials: Our cladding products are made from 96-97% renewable, Responsible Wood and PEFC-certified materials, while our underlay achieves 98-99% renewable content.
- Low Resource Depletion: Demonstrating minimal impact on primary resources, our manufacturing process prioritises sustainability.
- Lifecycle Transparency: Comprehensive lifecycle data provides architects, builders, and homeowners with clear, science-backed insights into the environmental impact of our products from cradle to factory gate.
At Weathertex, we are thrilled to announce our new Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), certified by Global GreenTag and compliant with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 standards. These updated EPDs reflect our dedication to transparency in environmental performance, providing our clients and partners with verified, credible data about the impacts of our products. This achievement reinforces our focus on sustainable building materials, bringing added value and confidence to everyone who chooses Weathertex.
