Weathertex Joins the Declare Label Program:

Transparency in Building Materials

We are excited to announce that Weathertex is now part of the Declare Label Program by the Living Future Institute Australia. This recognition highlights our commitment to product transparency and sustainability, ensuring that our customers can make well-informed decisions about the materials they use. By joining the Declare program, we affirm that Weathertex products meet strict environmental and health standards, allowing us to proudly declare: our products are made from hardwood timber and paraffin wax, without any harmful chemicals such as formaldehydes, resins, glues, or silica.

The Declare Label functions as a “nutrition label” for building materials, providing critical details about the composition of a product. It also indicates whether a product contains any ingredients on the Red List—a compilation of the worst-in-class materials commonly used in building products today, which pose serious risks to human health and the environment. We are proud to say that Weathertex cladding is Red List Free, meaning it does not contain any chemicals or materials deemed harmful under the Declare program’s rigorous standards.

Declare labels help ensure compliance with the Living Building Challenge (LBC) Materials Petal and the Healthy Interior Performance Imperative, which are recognised globally for their strict guidelines on building material sustainability and safety. As specifiers and clients increasingly seek healthier, more transparent building materials, these labels make it easier to understand product ingredients and avoid those with Red List substances.

At Weathertex, our products reflect our commitment to the environment and human health. With our new Declare Label status, we continue to lead by example in the quest for sustainable building materials. By opting for Weathertex, you’re choosing to build with products that are both transparent and free of harmful Red List chemicals—ensuring safety, sustainability, and a healthier future for all.

Declare your choice for a sustainable tomorrow with Weathertex.

A better choice, naturally!
