Weathertex Earns Platinum NaturePositive+ Rating of 153%
If you’ve specified Weathertex before, you probably already know we don’t do things by halves. So it won’t surprise you that we’ve gone and done it again – this time earning a Platinum NaturePositive+ Declaration Rating of 153% from Global GreenTag International. First in Australia. Another world first for our Natural Range.
But what does 153% actually mean? It means our Natural flatsheets and weatherboards aren’t just neutral on nature – they’re actively giving back. A 53% net positive impact across the full product life cycle. That’s not a marketing claim. It’s independently verified, rigorously assessed, and frankly, something we’re pretty proud of.
“Getting to 153% is a result we’ve genuinely worked hard for. Every certification we’ve pursued has been about proving, with real data, that sustainable manufacturing isn’t a compromise. This one confirms that our Natural Range isn’t just good for your project – it’s actively good for nature. That’s a pretty rare thing to be able to say, and we don’t take it lightly.” Jason O’Hagan, Managing Director, Weathertex
What the NaturePositive+ assessment actually looks at
This isn’t a tick-a-box certification. The Global GreenTag NaturePositive+ Declaration is one of the most comprehensive product assessments available, covering:
• Biodiversity and climate repair
• Circularity and resource recovery
• Human and environmental toxicity
• Ethical supply chains and modern slavery risk
• Social impact and Indigenous benefit
• Innovation
Our Natural Range scored strongly across the board. Around 97% of the product content is renewable or biogenic carbon-based material, predominantly post-industrial recovered wood fibre. Approximately 97% of outputs are directed to recyclable, repairable or recoverable end-of-life routes. Zero substances classified as high human health or environmental hazards. Supply chains audited against ILO core labour conventions.
For customers working on Green Star, LEED, WELL or IS Rating projects, this kind of verified, multi-metric data makes your job easier and your submissions stronger.

Not our first rodeo
You might remember that the Natural Range was already the first manufactured product in the world to achieve Platinum LCARate certification — recognising best-in-class life cycle performance across climate, biodiversity, health and ethical sourcing. It was also the first Australian cladding product to receive Platinum PHD certification, confirming complete ingredient transparency and top-tier health safety for occupants and installers.
The NaturePositive+ Platinum sits alongside those, and together they tell a pretty clear story: this is a product that has been put under the microscope, repeatedly, by independent assessors – and keeps coming out on top.
Why this matters for your projects
Sustainability credentials are increasingly non-negotiable in procurement, and the bar keeps rising. Having a cladding product that comes with this depth of verified environmental, health and social data takes a lot of the guesswork out of specification. Whether you’re targeting a specific rating tool credit, responding to a client sustainability brief, or just trying to make a genuinely good choice for the built environment… the Natural Range has you covered.
We’re not going to pretend the world’s problems are solved because one cladding product has a great certification. But we do think it proves that high-performance, genuinely sustainable building products are possible right now.
And that’s worth talking about.
